About the artist

Arlene’s interests in the Arts have followed her and developed throughout her life. At Music & Art High School in New York City, she worked in many media but concentrated on ceramics. She studied Art Education at Brooklyn College, where she received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Later, she took workshops in stained glass, quilting, watercolors and beaded jewelry. She taught art at every grade level from kindergarten through college in New York, Maryland, and California. She’s also planned interrelated arts curriculum, staged exhibits, and exhibited and sold her own work.

She is inspired by traveling and natures, loves plein air painting and enjoyed living in different locales with her husband and two daughters. Now there are sons-in-laws and four grandchildren in various professions, but all with interests in art and music.
